Princeton University's mission in planning and developing Princeton Forrestal Center was to protect and enhance the quality of life in the region as Central New Jersey grew and to provide a reasonable financial return on its investment. It did this by implementing a master plan that protected the land's natural systems; required high quality design; and, tried to anticipate the expanding mobility and infrastructure requirements of the region. A wide variety of corporations were attracted that valued the University and these objectives.
